The following official steps must be taken after arrival in Hattersheim am Main:

Contacting the foreigners authority

First:

Send an e-mail to the Foreigners Authority of the Main-Taunus-Kreis and enclose the following scanned documents:

  • Passports or other proof of identity with entry stamp.
  • If available, proof of travel health insurance
  • Contact details of the refugees and their current place of residence
  • Name and telephone number of a German-speaking contact person

The Foreigners' Registration Office (Ausländerbehörde) will make a personal appointment for the registration.

The appointment cannot be changed, so it must be kept in any case. The registration is a prerequisite for financial benefits according to SGB II/XII. An application is possible on the day of registration.

The application can be made informally or the application form can be used.

Application for financial assistance

You can apply for basic benefits according to SGB II (basic benefits for jobseekers) or SGB XII (basic benefits for old age and reduced earning capacity).

The contact point of the municipal job centre is responsible for benefits under Book II of the Social Code.

Registration at the Residents' Registration Office / Bürgerbüro "Stadtpunkt".

The "Stadtpunkt" citizens' registration office of the town of Hattersheim am Main is responsible for this. A certificate of residence, which can also be issued by the tenant of a flat, is required for registration.
